Mark Wahlberg recently sold his Las Vegas home just one year after announcing his choice to leave Los Angeles.

While the actor confirmed he moved into a different Las Vegas property, Wahlberg has owned a variety of highly valued, albeit hard to sell, mansions in Southern California and the Southwest
The star’s former homes are not a far cry from the life of luxury he told The New York Times in a 1992 article that fans imagined for him.

“Everybody thinks I came out with a record, made $50 million, and I’m on some island with a mansion, boat, yacht. And I’m out in Little Rock, Ark., doing three shows a night,” the rapper told the publication at the time.

In truth, Wahlberg confessed, “I find myself cuddled up on a little chair in an airport or sleeping under a table, trying to get a little rest.”

These days, the performer is happy to live in Sin City, though he told Today, “”I miss California, I miss the weather, but the kids are thriving [in Las Vegas],” citing the sense of community they’ve found in the city.

“You have Las Vegas, and people think automatically, ‘Oh, the Strip.’ But (in) Nevada, there are wonderful communities,” he continued. “I live in a wonderful community that’s really faith-based, great schools. There’s much more to Las Vegas than the Strip.”

Here’s everything to know about the homes Wahlberg has lived in with his family through the years.

Wahlberg’s most recent sale was of his $16.6 million townhouse in the private community of The Summit Club, according to documents obtained by the Las Vegas Review Journal and reviewed by PEOPLE.

The home, which Wahlberg purchased in August 2022, is in a neighborhood that boasts a range of luxury amenities, including a golf course, wellness and recreation programs, tennis courts, and 24/7 security.

He told Today that the family — wife Rhea Durham and kids Ella, 20, Michael, 17, Brendan, 15 and Grace, 13 — “wanted to move before school started, so we moved into a temporary place and we now moved into another place.”

He continued, “The plan was always to build not only a studio but a family home,” before confirming he and his family “just moved from one house to another.”

In addition to the 7,327-square-foot home, Wahlberg purchased 2.5 acres of land near the home. It is unclear whether the parcel of land is still in Wahlberg’s possession or if it’s the planned site for the family home Wahlberg wants to build.

In Oct. 2022, Wahlberg told The Talk that he moved out to Las Vegas with hopes of lobbying for tax credits to “build a state-of-the-art studio here and make this Hollywood 2.0.”

In 2009, Wahlberg bought a parcel of land in North Beverly Park, an exclusive gated Los Angeles community, for $8.25 million. By 2014, the actor had completed construction on his L.A. dream home.

The chateau-style property was designed by architect Richard Landry, who also built Dr. Dre’s Brentwood mega-mansion that was formerly owned by Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen.

The 30,500-square-foot home featured 12 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms on 6.2 acres in Beverly Park.

It also boasted a two-story entry lobby, featuring a bridal staircase, along with formal living and dining rooms. The primary suite had a fireplace, a private balcony, and dual baths and closets.

On the main level, a two-story wood-paneled library prominently featured a chandelier and fireplace. The gourmet kitchen was equipped with two islands, and a separate prep kitchen, and the home also featured an additional home’s theater, fully equipped gym and a wine and cigar cellar.

The grounds have a five-hole golf course, golf driving range, a sports court, a resort-like grotto pool, a skate park, and a guest house.

Originally, Wahlberg listed the massive mansion for $87.5 million, before facing a few price cuts. Ultimately, the home sold after almost a year on the market for a grand total of $55 million in February 2023.

Beverly Hills

Wahlberg bought a $5 million mansion in Beverly Hills in 2001 and spent two years remodeling the home, The Daily Mail reports.

The 9000-square foot home featured five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, with a guest house that adds an extra two of each.

In addition to the large amount of living space, Wahlberg’s home had plenty of room for work and play with a recording studio, full-sized boxing ring, a putting green, a swimming pool, and basketball, racquetball and tennis courts.

The actor listed the home in 2008 for $15.9 million. He sold the mansion after five years on the market in 2013 for a reduced price just shy of $13 million.
